Hi, I’m Katia.
I teach user experience and love talking about the future of technology and AI—in a way anyone can understand.

Build for Good UX
I’m a software engineer with a decade of front-end experience, and I’ve always obsessed over building a web that people actually find easy to use. Unfortunately, I still run into experiences every day where that isn’t the case. This is one place to watch the full series and explore the thinking behind each episode.

With my software engineering background, I also help my partner run Second Life Software. We’ve built everything from mobile apps to custom software and AI integrations for businesses.
More recently, I’ve started offering paid UX audits. If you want a practical review of what is and isn’t working in your current application, you can schedule one through Second Life Software.

I’m Katia.
I’m a girl who worked at Microsoft for five years. Before that, I was actually a professional baker. I got bored, decided I wanted to teach myself how to code, and that eventually turned into becoming a software engineer.
Throughout my time there, I kept coming back to something I’ve always loved: helping people understand technology. I’ve always loved teaching, and content creation became the perfect creative outlet. I get to keep learning about things that inspire me and then turn around and share them in a way that makes sense.
UX is something I picked up over years of building software. I’m not formally trained as a designer, so I tend to look at it from a very practical perspective: how do you build a product holistically so it works well and looks good?
